“Off like a prom dress”

Since this is my last blog of the semester, I would like to discuss briefly the class as a whole.I originally signed up for this course because it is my last semester here at UB and I wanted an easy A.  Well, it turns out the course was not as easy as I thought, and I probably will not get an A (unless the porn gods are looking down on me).  But, I did come out of this class with greater knowledge and an understanding about pornography and the industry.  My view of pornography as being perfectly fine for society was challenged; I now have a better understanding of the opposing views.  The way I stand now is neutral.  I feel both sides of the issue have strong arguments and views.  The class had me on my toes from the beginning.  I found myself working 3 hours a week in this class, watching lectures, reading and blogging.  One thing I learned and wish I did from the start was blogging less frequently but putting more thought into my blogs.  This last grading session I found myself with very little time to work in all six of my classes.  I decided to only blog a couple times, but put more thought into what I was discussing.  This was very effective and helped me out a ton.I enjoyed this class and the different aspects of pornography that I previously did not know.  I am going to suggest this class to friends, but not without warning in regards to the workload and the dirty looks I received watching the lectures in the library.  Professor Halavais, thank you and good luck with everything.
